Schneider getting whooped even by the king woohoo (╯°Д°）╯︵ /(.□ . \) <-- me flipping Schneider heh

——A few days later.

Schneider was standing in a room that anyone would want to avoid, the Throne Room.
「Are you still unable to confirm Rhonya's safety?」
「I'm fairly certain she's been hidden away by Ronard-shi.」
「I'm telling you to confirm it with your own eyes, Schneider.」
The King's piercing voice reverberated through the room. This is the current king, Schneider's uncle. Ever since the engagement was dissolved, Schneider has been reprimanded numerous times by this uncle.
「Geez... In a fight amongst children, Rhonya was forced to leave school and even went missing. Why can't you take this issue more seriously.」
「Rhonya is in the wrong.」
「Even if she did something wrong, this is not how you treat someone you love! To think you dissolved the engagement in front of the whole school!」
Schneider got a shock when his mild-mannered uncle raised his voice.

「Schneider, don't tell me that you've forgotten. In the first place, you were the one who wanted to make this verbal agreement official. And after dating for seven years, without even discussing with anyone, you just cancelled the engagement ——as your relative, I am ashamed.」
Schneider frowned and lowered his head. Although this is his uncle, this is also the king of a nation. Even if he disagreed with him, he could not refute so he just had to suck it up.
The King could only shake his head in disapproval at his nephew who refuses to reflect on his actions.

「If you don't hurry, she‘ll be taken away by other men」

「......Sorry?」

「......」

The King was even more surprised when Schneider did not get his advice.

「I'm sure you must have realised. She has many admirers. I hope you don't become a foolish man that let such a good girl go.」

「......」

Being labelled as a foolish man, Schneider could not help but furrowed his brows. He did notice, but it doesn't anymore. The King sighed when he saw Schneider's expression. 

「Schneider, don't you know why nothing happened in the seven years that you spent with Rhonya? It's because both of you didn't give the opposite sex a single chance to come between the two of you. When a man and a woman are in a relationship, they need to take care to not make their partner feel insecure.」

The King spoke slowly as if he was counselling Schneider. 

「When you see Rhonya interact with men other than you, have you ever felt uncomfortable or jealous? You didn't, did you? That's because she guarded herself well, so other men couldn't approach her. Just think for a bit. She only thought of you.」

When Schneider heard the King's words he wanted to interrupt and say that she was the cause of this. However, the King was one step faster than him.

「Speaking of which, it's you—— you are the culprit, Schneider.」

The King felt even more enraged when Schneider seemed to be at a loss. 

「You were going to be married soon, yet you got close to another lady. Isn't this the root cause? But all you do is push the blame onto her and got her kicked out of the school. By doing so, she would be abandon by her family. Even though you should know this better than anyone else, don't you think what you did was too much?」

The King spoke in a harsh tone while glaring daggers at Schneider. 
Schneider could only listen in silence.

「Deciding your partner from a young age, may not lead to good results. If she had met someone better than you, she would definitely be happier. But......」

For an instant, the King looked away, but his eyes quickly turned back to Schneider.

「But before that, you should apologise. I want you to bring your sincerity when you meet Ronard-shi to enquire about Rhonya's whereabouts. Listen, I want you to show him your sincerity, do you understand Schneider?」

「Yes......」

Reluctantly, Schneider agreed. Then, there was a knock on the door to the Throne Room. After the King granted entrance, a young boy entered. 

「Pardon me, Father. The King of Aladdin and his men have arrived.」

This was the King's son. Despite being only 13-years-old, his dignified figure as he stood with his back straight, you could not feel an ounce of childishness from him. 
The boy looked at Schneider and gave him a disapproving look.

「The King of Aladdin was looking forward to your marriage with Rhonya......」

The King stood up from his throne and said as he passed Schneider. As if he suddenly remembered something, he looked back. 

「When do you plan on getting married to your new lover?」

「I'm a person whose engagement was just annulled. We'd like to take it slow.」

「Oh, is that so.」

The King seemed disinterested and left the room. 
Schneider stood in his place for a while and was eventually urged by the nearby guards to leave. After exiting the Throne Room, he stomped his way through the corridor.

——The closer the people were to him, the more they criticised him. Schneider just couldn't understand it.

「Why why why! Everyone is on Rhonya's side......even though she's supposed to be the bad person. Dammit!」

Many of the students in school admit that this is Rhonya's fault. Yet, why won't the people closest to him believe that?
He grasped at his chest, to try and calm his agitated heart.
This is all because of Rhonya. That's right, she's the root of all evil.

But what came to mind were the last words that Rhonya had said. 
(lilies: sounds like she's ded T_T)

——...... I wish you happiness.
The words she said with a smile caused his heart to waver. 

Schneider who left the castle with heavy footsteps returned straight to his dorm room in school. He opened his room door violently as if to take out his frustrations on it. In his room were Hansel and an unexpected guest.

When the messenger from the castle visited, Hansel was already in his room. Hence, he asked Hansel to wait for him as he left for the castle.
Hansel stood with his back to Schneider and did not look back at Schneider. On the chair to his side sat a person with pure white wings that drooped to the ground. 

「Mythical beast Laclain. Oh, are you here to deliver a letter?」

As he was about to ask him why he was here, he noticed that Hansel was reading a letter.
Laclain is a mythical beast that is contracted to Rhonya. He probably delivered the letter on her request. 

「.......Mythical beast Laclain, do you know where Rhonya is?」

He tried to calm his anxious heart as Laclain responded exhaustedly.

「Please wait for a moment. I had just rushed over from Lexi's place, let me rest my wings for a while.」

Schneider frowned upon hearing that name. Lexi was the niece of the current queen and a friend of Rhonya. He was not good at dealing with her. She was currently staying in another country. That is probably why it took some effort from the mythical beast to deliver the letter to her. As Schneider pulled himself together and turned to look at Laclain, he noticed the Loto fairies on Laclain's shoulder. The two Lotos seemed to be giving Laclain a shoulder massage, struggling adorably. 

「Hey fairies, could you tell me where Rhonya is?」

Rhonya had once introduced Schneider and Hansel to the Lotos, though it took a long time to befriend them. Even if they are shy, the kind-hearted fairies would probably tell them frankly.

That being said, the Lotos looked at Schneider a little dazed and shuddered 「Un~」. Followed by 「Wu!」 and crossed their little arms. 

To Schneider whose eyes widened from the rejection, the Loto once again made the sounds 「Un!」 and 「Wu!」 with crossed arms......firmly refusing to answer.

「Ah-...... I'll give you desserts.」

Schneider recalled that they like desserts.
However, the Lotos would not be bribed. Pitter patter, as they swung their arms and shouted 「Wu!」. They looked very upset. 
Schneider was smiling, but even the fairies thought he was a bad guy.

「It's useless, we will not help you.」

Laclain smiled and continued. 

「You probably realised that there's no letter for you. Rhonya is cutting ties with you. No, you're the one who cut it. Yet now you want to look for her. There should be a limit to your wilfulness.」

Schneider frowned. Laclain never liked him, but he seems to dislike him even more now. At this moment, Hansel who was done with the letter turned to Laclain.

「Please, I beg of you, mythical beast Laclain. Please tell me where Rhonya-jou is!」

「Hansel, you're not a bad person, but before you're a friend of Rhonya, you are this guy's friend. You'll tell......」

「I won't tell Schneider!」

Laclain moved his wings and firmly rejected the persistent Hansel.  

「Hey, Hansel」

Schneider grabbed onto his shoulders.

「Is it not mentioned in the letter?」

「No......she only wrote that she's safe and healthy. It's a letter that's concerned about us! In order not to let us worry, isn't that actually a call for help!? Do you (Rhonya) feel anxious!? Are you crying at night!?」

Hansel who was panicking, grabbed Schneider's chest in tears. 

「Don't grab me!」

「Don't worry. It's just as the letter states, she's doing fine, just wait patiently till the next time she contacts you.」

Laclain told him calmly and stood up, while the Lotos grabbed onto his neck tightly. 
Schneider and Hansel tried to stop Laclain, but a strong gust of wind blew through and countless feathers floated in the air. 

「I'm warning you.」

Laclain perched on the window sill and glared at Schneider.

「If you and that cold-blooded brother hurt Rhonya one more time—— I will cut you to pieces.」

The mythical beast warned, with his sharp fangs bared, while the feathers in the room blocked their view. The mythical beast eventually flew out the window and the feathers followed behind him as if they were seemed to be sucked in. When all the feathers flew out, the window closed quietly. 

Schneider who had been in shock, immediately felt his anger rising.

「......To compare me to someone like him......」

He felt insulted, to be regarded as the same as Rhonya's cold-blooded brother. 
(lilies: well somebody's delulu)

「Schneider!!」

「Uooh!?」

Hansel broke down and Schneider desperately tried to calm him down. 
After that, the two went to visit Ronard again but were politely refused at the gate. They did not find out Rhonya's whereabouts. 

——Ever since then, Schneider continued to search for Rhonya but to no avail. 
On the other hand, Rhonya had properly finished organising her feelings for Schneider. From the bottom of her heart, she bid him farewell and decided to move on. 
However, Schneider, who could not know of this, has been constantly been thinking of Rhonya. Every time he searched for her, the memories of them would resurface. 

That day, he recalled the promise he made as a child. When he looked into the distance, Misano who was with him asked him what was wrong. 

Schneider could not help but speak of his memories with Rhonya. When he brought hunting, he wanted to make a dish with the animals he had hunted, so he asked her to teach him how to cook. After an incident with a servant, Rhonya would prepare coffee herself and also make desserts. 
As someone who would soon become family, he had promised to protect her. 
Like an idiot, when he recalled those times, both the feelings of love and sadness flowed out. 

When he was done recounting, he noticed that Misano was looking down.

「Ah, sorry, Misano.」

「......It's ok. I can't erase the time you spent with her, but I will not lose.」

To the apologetic Schneider, Misano lifted her head to reveal a victorious smile. 

「Compared to this woman who's overly-reliant on Schneider, I can give you a much deeper love.」

In response to Misano who was radiating with confidence, Schneider smiled listlessly. 

「......Over-reliant huh? I thought protecting Rhonya was my purpose in life...... I never would've thought that she would hurt anyone in her jealousy. I'm really sorry.」

Due to her jealousy, Rhonya attacked Misano. 
Schneider held Misano's hands in his to express his sincere apologies. In turn, she held his back with a dazzling expression on her face.

「That's not right. It's because Rhonya-jou is too spoilt. You were restrained by how spoilt she was.」

「I wasn't restrained in any way. For someone as pure as her, I was her support.」

「That's precisely being spoilt. She was restraining you by making you pity her.」

「......You're so strict.」

Schneider wanted to tell Misano that Rhonya's family was unfeeling, but it did not mean much even if she understood, so he gave up. 

「In contrast, you're independent and beautiful.」

Schneider smiled as Misano beamed with her chest puffed out with pride.

「Of course.」

Just then, the door opened suddenly and a noble lady appeared. 
She is Lexi Beckett. A daughter from the house of Count Beckett, the current queen's family, she is also the queen's niece. 
Her glossy platinum hair that was pulled into twin tails, was slightly curly at the ends. Despite appearing more petite and adorable than girls her age, under that uniformed bangs was a pair of determined, upturned eyes. Right now, her eyes were filled with rage that was directed at Schneider.

「Lexi! You're back? I didn't know......」

Schneider was so surprised he was at a loss for words, while Lexi stomped towards him in her high heels. 

「W- Wait! Lexi-jou」

This time, Hansel who had lost all blood in his face flew into the room, but he was too late.

Lexi raised her hand and gave Schneider a tight slap across his face with a clear resounding "PAK!". She slapped him so hard, it caused Schneider to take a step back. 

「YOU STUPID MAN!!」 (lilies: GOOD JOB!!)

Lexi followed up by reproaching Schneider. 

「As if it wasn't bad enough for you to cancel the engagement, to do it publicly...... What have you done! You foolish man!! How much do you think that child endured for you!? Don't tell me you don't know! To leave that terrible, heartless family, she did everything she could for you...... It's because of you that she stayed in that house! She endured it all for you! She worked hard to become your wife! And only loved you! Because you said you would protect her, that she continued living as a noble. But......」

Tears began to well up in Lexi's light blue eyes. She tried to hold back her tears as she raised her hand once more.

「YOU BIG IDIOT!!」

「Lexi-jou!」

But this time, Hansel caught her hand before she can slap Schneider again. 
The next moment, Misano stood in front of Lexi. She had a stern expression on her face as if to say she won't let Lexi hurt Schneider. 
Lexi glared at Misano, while she continued to shout at Schneider.

「To be instigated by this woman to annul the engagement in public. What a half-wit!」

「Rhonya-jou is the cause of this, she only received the karma she deserves.」

Misano answered on behalf of Schneider, which caused Lexi to raise her brows. 

「Rhonya started this? Quit joking around. Rhonya would never attack anyone!」

「If that's what you think, Rhonya is probably lying to you.」

「You're the one that‘s lying. You're the one who sees Rhonya as a rival and a thorn in your side. Even going after her fiancée. How unreasonable can you be! You thieving cat!」

「What did you say!? Schneider and I are mutually attracted to each other! How could you say that I seduced him!」

「No matter how to try to justify yourself, it doesn't change that fact that you stole him! You made Rhonya out to be the bad guy, and think that you're in the right. This is so infuriating! Wake up you Scumbag!」

Lexi finished up by throwing yet another insult at Schneider. This caused Misano to raise an eyebrow and shout.

「I won't forgive you if you continue to insult Schneider like that!」

「Come on! Rhonya won't get back at you, so I shall be your opponent! Let's duel!!」

Sparks started to appear between Lexi and Misano. The atmosphere was tense as they were about to launch magic at each other. Hansel and Schneider rushed to stop them

「Let go of me, Hansel! I'm going to give her what she deserves for hurting that child!」

「Lexi-jou! Let's discuss this later! Rather than this, we should be searching for Rhonya-jou! I can't even get a meeting with Ronard-shi, he wouldn't tell me anything no matter what I asked. And Schneider doesn't take this seriously......」

Hansel glanced at Schneider and said, 「I'm not going to comment on your relationship with Misano-jou, but if you at least brought some sincerity when visiting Ronard-shi, maybe he will tell you where she is.」

「Also, I think if Lexi-jou came along, he might tell us. Please. Don't you want to confirm Rhonya's safety?」

Under Hansel's persuasion, Lexi finally stopped causing a ruckus. 

「If anything were to happen to that child, you'll get it from me.」

Lexi scowled at Misano with tears in her eyes and turned to leave the room. Hansel followed behind her.

「......I'm sorry, Misano. Lexi has always had a bad temper. I can't do anything......」

「This is not something Schneider needs to apologise for.」

「Sorry, there's something else I need to do. I have to leave as well.」

「Eh......why?」

「I promised Hansel to look for Rhonya with him. Also...... it's also true that I broke my promise to Rhonya. That's why I have to see her one more time.」

Schneider stared at Misano, waiting for her approval. She nodded her head after a while, albeit unwillingly. At this sight, Schneider heaved a sigh of relief.

「I'll definitely make it up to you. Sorry I won't be able to send you back to school.」

「It's ok, I can return with magic. Just go.」

After sending him off with a smile, Misano who was left in the room became gloomy.

「......Why do I feel like I still lost to her......」

Misano mumbled something under her breath while holding her chest. Not long after, she left the room, disappearing soundlessly.

——On the other hand,  Schneider and the others shared a carriage that was headed to Ronard. Of course, the air was unnaturally heavy. 

「Stop it, Lexi! Don't look down on me! I can see through something like this if it really was a lie! Misano is not lying!」

「If that's the case, then that Misano-jou has made a big mistake!」

While Lexi and Schneider sat opposite each other, they never stopped arguing. The guards that sat on either side of Lexi pretended they did not see anything, they did not so much as move a brow. However, Hansel who was sitting beside Schneider wasn't as comfortable when watching the two. 

「Despite being engaged, you gave another woman a chance to come between your relationship. I can't believe it!.」

「Why do I have to be condemned by you? It's because Rhonya disappointed me that I lost my feelings for her!」

「That's your mistake! For something like that to happen to her, she must have felt despair. For the woman who hates her to get together with the man who was supposed to be her life partner......how painful......that must it be......」

Lexi shuddered at the thought of the anguish Rhonya must have felt. Unable to hold back her tears, she raised her leg to kick at Schneider.
Although Schneider got a shock, the two guards managed to stop Lexi by grabbing her knees.

「Let go of me! I won't feel better until I kick him! This man publicly executed Rhonya! Why did you do something like that!?」

「That's......」

「It's because of that woman, right!? Because Rhonya was in her way, so she had to get rid of her! Even if you wanted to break up with her, you could have gone about it peacefully......even though there were other methods......」

Lexi trailed off, then she thought of something and muttered to herself.

「......Rhonya, did you leave because of them?」

For some reason, I feel like the more I translate the worse my English becomes, What is happening to me gaaah (╥﹏╥)

I swear everyone that's not stupid can see how amazing Rhonya is except for this butt-for-eyes grrrr
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed seeing Schneider get scolded 'cause I sure did keke XD 
You don't know how many times I searched up the dictionary to find words to scold him in different ways.
